We are particularly enthusiastic about this product because it has a great story and supports veteran-owned businesses and charities nationwide. Read on to learn about the unique story and inspiration for the 2019 Frontline Leaders Post 9/11 Deck of 52!
The 2019 Frontline Leaders Post 9/11 Deck of 52 was the brainchild of Marjorie K. Eastman, a US Army veteran, and author of the book, The Frontline Generation. In the words of Ms. Eastman, “The 52 organizations selected for this 2019 Bicycle Collector’s Item Deck represent how the post 9/11 military community is taking care of each other, our communities, and rising to opportunities and challenges here at home.”
The Frontline Leaders Post 9/11 Deck of 52 was inspired by the US Department of Defense’s Iraqi Most Wanted playing cards from 2003. The playing cards were developed to help troops identify the most-wanted members of the Iraqi government. Each card contained an individual wanted by the US government, their address, and their position. The highest ranking cards were reserved for the people at the top of the most wanted list. Rather than highlighting members of a rogue government, the Frontline Leaders Post 9/11 Deck of 52 showcases “the most wanted” business ventures and charities founded by the Post 9/11 generation of veterans. For those of us that prefer to support organizations run by veterans, the Deck of 52 highlights many brands and charities that may otherwise get drowned out by the large advertising budgets of mainstream corporations.
