Artist Spotlight

Sinecure is a playing card enthusiast and illustrator known for creating original artwork, puzzles, stories, and concepts inspired by the playing card community. After sharing early sketches of Passport, the project received an enthusiastic response and became the inaugural release of X-Decks’ Supported Artists initiative. Passport marks Sinecure’s first published playing card deck, blending storytelling, design, and interactive puzzles into a unique collector experience.

Cards

• Back Design: Two way, borderless back design featuring the Passport gold foil logo and stripes inspired by a flight officer’s sleeve, creating a striking fanning effect.
• Faces: Fully custom court cards incorporating holographic foil “anti-counterfeiting” elements inspired by authentic passports. The four suits depict aristocratic families in exile, carrying the elegance and prestige of their noble heritage while embracing the style, excess, and glamour of the 1970s jet set era.
• Pips: Traditional red and dark gray pips with readable indexes and identical borders make the deck suitable for any card game while preserving a clean appearance during fans, spreads, and shuffles. Each custom number card resembles a passport page, complete with recreated customs and immigration stamps inspired by authentic travel documents and a holographic foil logo at its center.
• Aces: Four custom Aces featuring recreations of authentic period visas from some of the world’s most iconic travel destinations.
• Jokers: Custom Jokers featuring “Entry Denied” and “Visa Cancelled” passport stamps inspired by authentic immigration markings, reinforcing the deck’s travel narrative.
• Puzzle Card: Provides clues to solve the hidden puzzle, a 50 year old Cold War mystery woven throughout the deck.
